What Atlas handles
You can explore the map and public property records without creating an account. When you sign in with Google, Atlas receives account details such as your user ID, email, display name, and profile image. Research questions, saved properties, notes, and account activity may be stored in your browser and synced to your account when you use those features. Data-correction reports contain the property, field, description, and evidence link you submit.
How information is used
Atlas uses this information to authenticate you, deliver requested research, save your work, enforce usage limits, handle billing, investigate errors, and respond to support or correction requests. AI research sends the relevant question, conversation context, and selected records to the model provider. Do not include unnecessary confidential or sensitive information.
Service providers
Atlas uses Vercel for hosting, Supabase for authentication and stored account data, Google for sign-in, and Anthropic for AI research. Map and place features can contact Google, Cesium, and Mapbox. When payments are available, Stripe handles payment details and subscription billing; Atlas stores identifiers and subscription status, not full card numbers. These providers process information under their own applicable terms and privacy practices.
Cookies, local storage, and product analytics
Sign-in uses session cookies. Browser storage keeps interface preferences and research drafts. When configured, PostHog receives selected product events to help understand usage and reliability. Atlas’s analytics implementation excludes research-question text, report text, email addresses, and URL query parameters from those events and disables session recording and automatic interaction capture. Hosting and service providers may also process network information and technical logs.
Public records and sharing
Property pages contain public-record information, which may include names and filed contact information. Source material can be outdated or incorrectly matched. Use the correction option on the property page to flag a problem. Shared public property links expose the property page; do not put private research or confidential documents in a public link.
Your choices and requests
You can sign out, clear local browser data, stop using AI features, and contact chaikatz@gmail.com to request access, correction, export, or deletion of your account information. Clearing browser storage does not delete cloud data. Account deletion does not automatically cancel a Stripe subscription; cancel through your account or ask support to handle both.
Information is retained as needed to operate the service, handle requests and disputes, protect against misuse, and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. Some billing or security records may need to be retained after an account is deleted. Contact support for the scope of a specific deletion request.
